The James Road church of Christ invites you to attend any of our services. We love having visitors and would be honored by your presence. We are a warm, friendly, and loving congregation, and we are sure you would feel welcome. We seek to follow the New Testament in all we do in our worship services. We aim to honor and glorify God in worshiping Him “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). As a congregation of the Lord’s Church, we seek to learn, grow, and love God and each other. We hope you will visit and allow us to get to know you.
Why we believe what we believe
Our faith is in Jesus Christ and His word. Our sole source of authority for all that we do is God’s Word, the Holy Scriptures, to which we are totally committed. On any matter where the Holy Scripture speaks, we are firmly committed to its commands, precepts, and principles. We are committed to the authority of the scriptures teaching salvation by grace through faith, repentance, and baptism by immersion for the remission of sins.
We are committed to the one church that Christ established, and to the New Testament pattern of worship. Each first day of the week the church assembles in worship with singing, observance of the Lord’s Supper, giving, prayer, and teaching of God’s inspired word.

Our History
The North Seventh Street Church of Christ was located at 714 North Seventh St. The church began its work during the mid 1970’s. Over the years, our attendance increased and we had an opportunity to move to a larger and greater facility to do a greater work for the Lord. On May 4, 1997, we held our first worship service here at the James Road church of Christ. On May 3, 1998, we celebrated our First Annual Homecoming and we honored Brother and Sister David Shanks for their outstanding dedication for the cause of Christ. We are looking to the future for growth of this congregation and to spread the Gospel in this area.
We are thankful to our God for this privilege to be able to teach individuals how to please God. “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” II Timothy 2:2“
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16
“We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you; come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.” Numbers 10:29
